Treatment Transport Service Providers

Youth transport providers move adolescents from home to treatment programs when families need professional support for the transition. This service exists because some adolescents resist treatment placement or pose safety concerns during travel.

Transport teams can function as interventionist, guardian, coach, and trusted ally when done right. At its best, transport becomes an essential step toward treatment integration. At its worst, transport operates without clinical oversight or coordination with the larger treatment process.

YSSP verifies transport providers who demonstrate clinical sophistication, peer validation, and coordination with treatment teams. Members are screened, vouched for, background tested, and interviewed. After panel review, select providers receive YSSP verification.

Youth Standards Support: Its Responsibility to its members

While YSSP applicants owe the project their best. Once members our goal is to further the work being done by these vetted organizations. That means advocating for them. We are working with corporate partners and trusted brands whose support, and stamp of approval we are very grateful for, and hope to use this to. Our project is meant to be a collaborative. - we work to keep the best of the best by advocating for them and making YSSP membership mean something.

What Makes a Qualified Transport Provider

Transport companies earn YSSP verification through demonstrated clinical competence and operational excellence. This is not about having a business license and a clean van. Verification requires proof of training, documented outcomes, and peer validation from treatment professionals who understand the clinical demands of youth transport.

YSSP evaluates clinical training in adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention. Transport teams demonstrate current certifications in first aid, CPR, and mental health first aid. De-escalation training shows providers can manage resistance without force. Background checks, drug screening, and driving records meet standards that exceed state minimums.

Safety protocols cover vehicle maintenance, emergency response procedures, and communication systems during transport. Insurance coverage includes liability, vehicle, and professional indemnity at levels that protect families and adolescents. Documentation systems track incidents, complications, and outcomes with transparency that supports quality improvement.
